Connecting and Empowering the Muslim Youth Sector
Equalinks CIC was launched in 2022 as a vehicle to lobby and influence national policymakers and organisations seeking to support organisations that have been historically marginalised and overlooked. Aiming to connect the dots and be the “Equa-link” between national bodies and grassroots initiatives, we aimed to lead the change on creating impactful change for those who need it the most. Working in the youth sector, we saw young Muslims were exposed to a range of social and economic risk factors from poor mental health, including poverty, financial uncertainty and inadequate housing, which were considerably higher than the general public. In addition, these young people were accessing some of the most piecemeal and severely underfunded services, which amplified the adverse outcomes. As a result, the Muslim Youth Alliance was launched in 2023.

The Muslim Youth Alliance
Connect. Inspire. Empower. Youth programs within the Muslim community are often fragmented and underfunded, with much time spent duplicating efforts. The Muslim Youth Alliance is a national initiative designed to bring together and strengthen the Muslim youth sector. Our goal is to create a unified network that makes opportunities accessible for everyone involved. By building a collective voice, we aim to drive impactful change on a national scale.

Strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them
As an organisation, we place women and girls at the heart of everything we do. Too often, they’re sidelined in these spaces, but we are here to change that narrative. Our commitment goes beyond just hosting female-only events; our planning and delivery teams are exclusively female, ensuring that women’s voices lead every step. Empowering Muslim girls isn’t just a goal—it’s our driving passion and the foundation of all our work.
