In the Summer of 2024, 350 teenagers from 32 organisations across England united to participate in the inaugural Muslim Youth Alliance NCS Programme. Held at Inspiring Learning Kingswood centres on the Isle of Wight and in Devon, the event marked the first time many of these young participants had spent an extended period away from home.

While the NCS programme has been active for several years, this session was unique as it was specifically designed for a Muslim audience. Recognising that some Muslim parents, particularly of daughters, may feel hesitant about sending their children away, the program was thoughtfully tailored to address their needs. Provisions included halal food, dedicated prayer times, and culturally sensitive guidance to ensure participants felt comfortable and fully engaged in this transformative experience.

Over the course of the two residential experiences the young people tried

  • Coasteering
  • Surfing
  • Hikes
  • Quran Journalling
  • Reminders by the Campfire
  • Nasheeds
  • Adventurous Activities
  • Kayaking
  • Total Wipeout
  • Archery
  • Bushcraft
  • 3G Swing

and so much more! After 5 days of unforgettable adventure, hundreds of young people returned home having completed their NCS and with an experience to last them a lifetime!
